Life Before Thomas Jefferson High School

I was born and raised in the northwest corner of Connecticut and as typical, as it sounds I chose a career in education because I wanted to make the world a better place. Twenty-two years later it is still that desire to make the world a better place that drives me as an educator!

I have been fortunate because my career as an educator has allowed me to live and teach in locations that I never would have experienced otherwise. Early in my career, I accepted a teaching position in St. Croix, USVI. It was a wonderful few years of playing in the sand and learning about myself and other cultures. After that, I moved to Miami, FL, and taught at an all-girls school for nine years. It was also an amazing experience, where I grew as both an individual and an educator. Miami was never the right fit for me because I love nature, so I accepted a teaching position at Heritage High School in Littleton, CO. Ultimately life led me to teach in Denver Public Schools and now at TJ. This is my 3rd year as a Spartan and I couldn’t imagine teaching anywhere else. I love TJ : )

When I am not teaching, I love to hike, snowboard, camp, improve my house (DIY), cook, garden, and eat good food with my friends. I enjoy health and fitness, with my most recent obsession being Lagree Pilates.  Plus, I am a HUGE college basketball fan….UConn! When my schedule permits, I love to visit my family in Connecticut and reconnect with my Italian roots via olives, cheese, Proscuitto, and Italian cookies.
